Midas Hotel shined at the recently held Department of Tourism’s (DOT) Appreciation Night for Tourism Oriented Enterprises as the organization gave a Special Citation award to the hotel’s very own Room Attendant Nerissa Baquilar for her exemplary act of honesty and integrity in the performance of duty. Baquilar helped Chef de Mission of Brunei Darussalam Muhd Zamri Hamdani find his missing wedding ring inside his hotel room.
Baquilar found Hamdani’s wedding ring stuck inside a pack of lozenges in his room. He personally thanked her and shared his experience via his social media account. He also took time to write a letter of appreciation and took photos with Baquilar and the Midas Hotel Team before leaving.
DOT Tourism Regulation Coordination & Resource Generation Undersecretary Arturo Boncato Jr. awarded the Special Citation certificate to Baquilar and presented a Certificate of Recognition to Midas Hotel and Casino for the hotel’s outstanding contribution and overall support to DOT-NCR’s projects and efforts in 2019.
Delegates from other countries also expressed their gratitude for the warm welcome of the hotel staff during their stay through short letters and their social media account. The hotel hosted delegates from Brunei Darussalam, Laos, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Timor Leste and Vietnam during the recently concluded SEA Games.
Prior to DOT’s Appreciation Night, DOT Office of Tourism Standards and Regulation Director Rebecca Villanueva-Labit personally visited Midas Hotel and Casino to meet and thank Hamdani as well as the Midas Hotel management team. She also recognized the hotel’s contribution in hosting SEA Games participants from the countries mentioned.
